When times are difficult, having access to nutritious food can make an important difference. Rucksack Rations is a free food program dedicated to helping Veterans and their families in Westmoreland County meet essential food needs with dignity and support.
Through local food distributions and community partnerships, Rucksack Rations provides nutritious food to registered Veterans and their families while strengthening the connections that make our Veteran community stronger.
At Heroes Never Alone</Heroes Never Alone>, food assistance is about more than filling a pantry. It is another way we can stand beside those who once stood for us and remind our Veterans that they are valued, supported, and never forgotten. Food distribution is one of the organization's core Veteran-support initiatives.

Helping Meet Essential Needs
Food insecurity can place an added burden on Veterans and their families. Rucksack Rations helps ease that burden by connecting registered Veterans with food assistance available through our program and community partners.
Our goal is simple: help Veterans and their families put nutritious food on the table while providing assistance with respect and dignity.
By working together with local organizations, volunteers, donors, and community partners, we can continue building a network of support for the Veterans who call our community home.
Registration Is Required
Veterans must be registered with Rucksack Rations to receive food through the program. If you are a Veteran in Westmoreland County and would like to participate, complete the registration process to get started.

Rucksack Rations is more than a food distribution program. It is part of our commitment to building, strengthening, and maintaining a Veteran community where those who served know they have people standing beside them.
